ChelPipe group has made a contract for shipment of more than 150 thousand tons of LDP (large diameter pipes) for construction of a linear portion of TAPI (Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan – India) gas pipeline. According to the terms and conditions of the contract, about 200 km of TAPI gas pipeline will be laid in the territory of Turkmenistan from Chelpipe pipes. First supply of X70 1420 mm pipes with external anticorrosion coating is to take place in the second quarter of 2019.
ChelPipe group has been continuously expanding its export supply geography. As part of TAPI project, the company is to dispatch the largest lot of LDP to Turkmenistan over the past few years, - comments Denis Prikhodko, Chief Commercial Officer of ChelPipe Group. Among 94 Russian and global tenderers the company has offered the best supply and service conditions. For the purpose of project implementation according to the requirements of international and Islamic banking, its funding has been provided by three financial institutions. Sberbank, a partner of ChelPipe group, Islamic Development Bank and State Bank of Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan have skillfully arranged international cooperation and structured a deal with the confirmation of payment for the pipes in the amount of more than 200 million USD.
1735 km long TAPI main gas pipeline with a designed capacity of 33 billion cubic meters of gas per year is to expand across four countries – from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.
