ChelPipe Group supplies three-layer coated pipes for Nord Stream 2. In total, to build a gas pipeline on the bottom of the Baltic Sea, ChelPipe Group shipped in 2016–2018 around 600 kt of LDP. We also remain the only supplier of low-temperature LDPs to build the near-shore part of the pipeline.
Launch of ETERNO
ChelPipe Group launches ETERNO LLC manufacturing stamp-welded pipeline parts using nanostructured materials. It boasts advanced technology, production process and working culture. The new import substitution facilities were launched by the country’s President Vladimir Putin.
The Agglomerated Flux project
ChelPipe Group doubled its agglomerated flux capacities by putting the second phase of the project into operation. Now the company is able to deliver proprietary “ceramics” for its own LDPs, and sell excess product to third parties.
Establishment of the PNTZ Training Centre
Launch of the corporate Future of White Metallurgy training programme and construction of the PNTZ Training Centre. Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant, the Government of Sverdlovsk Region and Pervouralsk Metallurgical College signed an agreement on creating a unique training programme.

Refurbishment of main plants
In the 1970s through 90s, the company refurbished its main plants to boost annual pipe output. Domestic demand for tubular products surged driven by the recovery and rapid development of the oil and gas industry.
World's largest pipe plant
In the 1970s and 80s, we became the world's leading pipe manufacturer with an output of up to 3.5 mtpa. Our pipes were used in the country’s main pipelines, including Druzhba, Bukhara-Ural, Central Asia-Centre, Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod, Surgut-Polotsk, Siyaniye Severa, etc.
ChelPipe Group kicks off cold-rolled pipe production with improved mechanical properties and high-accuracy geometry, as well as launches the production of blade spars for MI-26, a heavy transport helicopter.
Launch of LDP production
We were the first company globally to manufacture large-diameter pipes welding two half-cylinders. This news, supported by a photograph of the first pipe with a caption “A pipe for you, Adenauer!!” engraved on it, was a response by the plant's workers to restrictions on large-diameter pipe supplies from West Germany to the USSR.
First ChelPipe products
Resulted from painstaking efforts of our employees working 12–18 hours a day. During the war, Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant was among the suppliers of the Soviet Army, particularly, providing large bombs to the frontline.
